Michael B. Knable, DO, DFAPA – Project Manager
Dr. Knable is Executive Director of the Sylvan C. Herman Foundation and Medical Director of Clearview Communities, LLC. After receiving undergraduate and medical degrees at Ohio University, he trained in Psychiatry at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital and in Neurology at George Washington University Hospital, and is certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology.
Dr. Knable was a Clinical Associate at the National Institute of Mental Health from 1992–1998 where his research focused on severe mental illnesses. He was then Medical Director or Executive Director of The Stanley Medical Research Institute (SMRI) from 1998-2008. Dr. Knable is the author of more than 70 publications on various aspects of neuropsychiatric disease including “Surviving Manic Depression: A Manual on Bipolar Disorder for Parents, Families and Providers.”
Dr. Knable currently holds several other leadership roles including: Chairman of the Department of Psychiatry at Suburban Hospital, Johns Hopkins Medicine; Chairman of the Psychiatric Advisory Board at the Treatment Advocacy Center, Assistant Clinical Professor at George Washington University; and Adjunct Professor at the Uniformed Services University School of Medicine. Dr. Knable was recently elected as a Distinguished Fellow of the American Psychiatric Association (DFAPA) and as a member of the American College of Psychiatrists.
Jason Moehringer, PsyD – Scientific Content Manager
Jason Moehringer received his Psy.D. in 2014 from the George Washington University. He completed a postdoctoral fellowship at Zucker Hillside Hospital at the Long Island Jewish Medical Center. He is currently a Clinical Psychologist at ClearView Communities, LLC, a residential treatment center for individuals with severe and chronic mental illness. He has presented at multiple industry conferences, including ESCoNS, the American Psychological Association Division 39, and the International Society for Psychological and Social Approaches to Psychosis. He is also involved in research on the treatment of psychosis utilizing both traditional and digital methods, and has published on topics in the clinical supervision of training psychologists.
Victoria Pickering – Web and Creative Design
Victoria handles the website creation for PsyberGuide, and provides technical and project management support. In addition to her technology skills, her background in psychology (M.A. in Developmental Psychology, University of Michigan, Ed.M. Harvard) helps translate between theory, research, and technological products in the mental health area.
Brandon Staglin – Communications Coordinator
Brandon is the Director of Marketing Communications at The One Mind Institute, and a mental health advocate. He manages the Twitter account and other publicity for PsyberGuide.
