DBT Self-Help provides a quick and easy way to learn about and practice Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). Intended to be used either as a supplement to a traditional DBT program or as a stand-alone introduction, DBT Self-Help contains the full catalogue of DBT principles and skills. These are broken down into four categories: Mindfulness, Emotion Regulation, Interpersonal Relations, and Distress Tolerance. Users can access pre-made lists of skills and practice for use in managing common problems, such as anger management or shame, or can make their own crisis list for use when facing overwhelming problems in the moment. DBT Self-Help is not a substitute for a professional DBT program; however, it may be useful for individuals who do not have access to such services or to providers who are looking for a convenient way to keep clients engaged in practicing DBT.

The Android version of the app differs somewhat from the Apple version. It is listed as DBT Self-Help and Diary Card, and it includes a Diary Card function for users to track their emotions and the skills they use, which can be sent via email to their DBT provider. This Diary Card feature is not available in the Apple version.
